on a clock是什麼意思呢？其實它的用法在口語中很常見和實用，我們基本上每天都會用到這個表達。

這里的「clock」是動詞，英文的解釋是：to record working hours with a time clock，即，以鐘表記錄工作時間。

We clock in at 9 a.m. and out at 6 p.m. 我們早上9點上班，下午6點下班。

上下班打卡除了clock這個單詞外，還可以用punch這個詞表達，源于早期的打卡器（time clock）功能是在一張專門的計時卡片（time card）上打出小洞（punch holes），以記錄上下班時間。 因而clock in可以換成punch in，clock out可替換為punch out。表達的意思都是一致的。
