1、open book ＝ 翻書本 ？

小編記得上學時老師經常說open your book，把your去掉，open book翻譯成翻書本就大錯特錯了。open book可以形容人和物：

形容人時則表示 極坦率的人、 一目了然的事物； 形容物時則表示 容易理解、 顯而易見。

I have no secrets； my life is an open book.

我沒有什麼秘密，我的生活是盡人皆知的事情。

2、on the door ＝ 在門上 ？

確實是 在門上的意思，除此之外，還可以表示 看門、 守門（在電影院等門口做檢票的工作）。

We should be able to get in free because I know theguy on the door.

我們應該可以免費進去，因為我認識門衛。

3 、knock the door ＝ 敲門 ？

開門前敲一下門是基本禮儀，但敲門不能說knock the door，它實際意思是 撞門、 砸門。

正確的敲門的英語表達是 knock on the door 或 knock at the door。

She hears someone knock the door.

她忽然聽到有人撞門。

There had been a knock at the door and when she opened it she locked herself out

外面有敲門聲，她去開門，結果把自己反鎖在了外面。

4 、on the couch ＝ 坐在沙發上 ？

on the couch是可以翻譯成 在沙發上，但在不同的場景，還有另外一層意思，去看心理醫生時，病人躺下談話是坐在couch上的，所以后來引申為 看心理醫生。
